Mike Conroy Was The Senior Vice President For Alberta Health Services

Mike Conroy was the Senior Vice President for Alberta Health Services. He received his undergraduate degree in Commerce from the Royal Military College of Canada. His graduate degree in Health Administration came from Central Michigan University. Additionally, Mike Conroy has completed the Queen's University Executive Program, as well as Harvard's Health Service Excellence Program.

As the Senior Vice President, Mike Conroy shared accountability with the Zone Medical Director for the Edmonton Zone.  Mike Conroy worked together with the Zone Medical Director to find efficient and effective ways to provide integrated health services to the Edmonton Zone. This meant offering ambulatory care, community based health services, acute care, and continuing care. Conroy's other responsibilities included the development of long term service plans for the Edmonton Zone's communities and total population. This included executing Alberta Health Services' strategic goals and the specific health needs of the Edmonton Zone. They accomplished this through encouraging and facilitating effective interaction between the various services and departments of Alberta Health Services. Close cooperation with the municipal and community based stakeholders was also integral to their success.

Prior to becoming Senior Vice President, Mike Conroy was working as Executive Vice President for Corporate Services. His responsibility was to oversee Cancer Care in the province, the North Zone health service area, Human Resources, Communications, Information Technology, Legal and Privacy, Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk Management, and the Ethics and Compliance Office.
